A Simple Home Programme With Walking and Sit-to-Stand Exercises Improved Function After Hip Fracture
A hip fracture can change an older person’s daily life within seconds. Someone who previously walked independently, bought groceries, and managed personal care may become dependent on assistance to stand up, transfer, and move outside the home after surgery. Even when the fracture has been surgically stabilised, function does not automatically return. Loss of muscle strength, reduced walking capacity, fear of another fall, and lower physical activity may continue long after discharge.
