Strukturert trening ved spenningshodepine: Kan målrettet fysisk aktivitet redusere smerte og funksjonstap?

Tension-type headache is the most prevalent form of headache and affects a large proportion of the working-age population. The condition is commonly characterized by bilateral, pressing pain, neck stiffness, and reduced concentration, often leading to impaired work performance and diminished quality of life. A study published in December 2025 examined the effects of a structured exercise program compared with alternative training strategies in individuals with tension-type headache.

The study adds important evidence on how systematic physical activity can be used as an active and sustainable intervention in headache management.

    Help us keep PhysioDock free

All content on PhysioDock is free – but it costs to keep it running.

PhysioDock is built to be an open and accessible platform for physiotherapists, students, and patients alike. Here you’ll find articles, measurement tools, exercise libraries, diagnostic resources, and professional materials – all completely free.

Behind the scenes, however, there are hundreds of hours of work: research, writing, development, design, maintenance, testing, and updates. We do this because we believe in open knowledge and better health information.

If you’d like to support our work and help us continue developing and improving PhysioDock, we truly appreciate everyone who:
    – subscribes to a PhysioDock+ membership
    – uses and recommends PhysioDock in their work or studies
    – shares PhysioDock with others

Every contribution makes a difference – and helps us keep the platform open to everyone.
    Thank you for supporting PhysioDock!
