The clam exercise is widely used in rehabilitation and training to target the gluteus medius, particularly in patients with hip, pelvic, or knee-related impairments. Despite its popularity, limited evidence exists on how hip positioning influences activation of the different segments of the muscle. This study examined how hip flexion angle and passive hip internal rotation range affect gluteus medius activation during the clam exercise.
